Kerala Porotta

Ingredients;
Plain flour/Maida-250gms
Egg-1
Salt-1tsp
Sugar-1tsp
Oil-1cup
Water as required

Mix the salt and sugar the flour.Beat the egg and pour it into the flour.Add 50 mls of water and knead the dough.Pour more water to knead into a dough.Now add 1tbsp of oil and knead the dough on a flat surface for minimum 5 mins.Pat oil on the dough and allow it to rest for 30 mins.Now add some oil and knead it.make equal sized balls.I made 5 out of this amount of flour.Allow it to rest for 5mins.Take each doughball,apply oil to the hands and flatten it out with the palm of your hand.pat it so thin that it should be semitransparent.Apply oil or ghee generously and sprinkle flour.Fan fold the rolled dough and make it a round spiral.Tuck in the end.Allow each to rest for 5 mins.Get the pan hot and sprinkle some oil.Carefully spread each porotta with the palm of the hand and place on the pan.Roast on each side.Apply oil/ghee generously to both sides.When done remove it on to a plate and with the palm of both hands gently crumble it to bring out the layers.
Serve with any curry!!!!!!!
