Dried Fish $ Brinjal Curry


Ingredients;
Dried fish -100gms,soaked in water for 30 mins
Onion-1,finely chopped
Egg plant/Brinjal-cut into large cubes,1cup
Ginger-1tsp,minced
Garlic-1tsp,minced
Green chillies-2,slit
Curry leaves-1sprig
Gambojee tamarind-1-2pods
Fresh grated coconut-1cup
Chilli powder-1/2tsp
Coriander powder-1tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Oil/Coconut oil-2tbsp
Salt as per taste
Water-1cup


Crush the fish with the pestle.Add this in a pan with turmeric and 1/2cup water.Allow it to cook.In a separate pan heat the oil,add in the onion,ginger garlic,green chillies and curry leaves.Saute it well.add the chilli and coriander powder and allow it to roast.Now add the brinjals and saute it.Add the gambojee tamarind and some salt but remember that the fish is salted.When the brinjals are half done add the fish and half cup of water.Grind the coconut to a smooth paste.Pour this into the curry and allow it to heat on a low flame.Switch of the flame before it starts to boil.
Serve with hot rice!!!!!!!!
