Chicken Biriyani Made Easy

We were invited for  dinner to our friends house. Me and Anu both loved the chicken biriyani made.It was not only yummy but quick as well. When I eat something nice I want to recreate it and did cook it yest.
So here it goes.....

Ingredients;
Basmati Rice-3cups
Chicken 500 gms-cleaned and cut
Shan Biriyani mix-1Pkt,I bought  Sindhi
Peeled canned plum tomatoes-1can,I bought Roma
Onion-2,finely chopped
Ginger-garlic paste-1tbsp
Yogurt-1tbsp
Salt to taste
Coriander and Mint leaves-minced
potaoes-cubed and green peas(optional)
Fried Nuts and Raisins
Ghee-2tbsp(optional)
Water as required
Oil-2tbsp

Add rice to boiling water and cook till 60%done.
Heat oil in a pan,add the onions and salt.Saute it well then add ginger-garlic paste. When the raw smell is gone add the whole pkt of Shan Masala.Saute it well. Pour the yogurt, mix well then goes in  the canned tomatoes. When the mix starts to boil;drop the chicken pieces, potatoes and peas and let it cook for 5mins.
Now add the chicken with half the sauce in an oven friendly vessel.Add the rice on top in 3 layers. In between layers sprinkle the herbs, nuts and raisins and the sauce.Pour the ghee on top
Leave it to cook in the preheated oven at 180deg cel for 45 to 50 mins.

Serve with raita!!!!!!!!!!
