Kalakand

Ingredients;
Ricotta cheese-250 gms
Condensed milk-50-75mls
Milk powder-2tsp
Cardamom powder-11/2tsp
Pistachios for garnishing.


Mix the cheese,milk powder and condensed milk in a pan.Now heat it and keep on stirring it.Once the mix boils,sim the flame and let the mix thicken.Continously stir it.When it will have the consistency of an upma.Switch off the flame.Add cardamom powder.Mix it well and when cooled down layer it in a square shaped box with thickness of 1 inch.Garnish top with pistachios.Refrigerate it for 2 to 3 hours.Cut into desired shapes.It makes 8 to 9 pieces.

You know Biny, Kalakand is very famous in my native place A.P I have grown up eating the sweet nostalgic they look brilliant Very Happy Diwali Biny :)

Ok, I missed your lovely and delicious kalakand this time..but I will try to be regular on your site.Can you imagine never made Kalakand with ricotta cheese, such a shame isn't when this cheese is available here easily..Always made it with fresh home-made paneer though, I guess ricotta is a way better option as it saves whole lot of time and effort in kitchen.Hugs and smiles
