Chillies and Garlic Pickle

Birds eye chillies and garlic are said to reduce cholesterol!!!!!After each vacation thats what I and my H needs.So this time I bought some 'Kanthari' with me.


Ingredients;
Bird's eye chillies-100 gms,washed and dried
Garlic-2pods.slit each clove into 4
Oil-4tbsp
Fenugreek powder-1/2tsp
Asafoetida-1/2tsp
Turmeric-1/2tsp
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Vinegar-1/2cup or lemon juice
Salt as per taste

Heat oil in a pan.Sputter the mustard seeds and then add the chillies and garlic.Saute it for a minute or two.Then switch off the flame.Now add the fenugreek,asafoetida, turmeric powders and salt.Mix well.When it cools down add the vinegar or lemon juice.Tastes best after 3 to 4 days when the chillies soften!!!!!
