I have used sea bass in this recipe;but you may substitute it with any fish of your choice preferably tuna, salmon, kingfish.
Ingredients
Seabass-1kg,cleaned,skinned and cut into pieces
Red Chilli powder-11/2tbsp
Turmeric-1/2tsp
Shallots-5 or Onion-1/2,roughly chopped
Ginger garlic-1tbsp,finely chopped
Green chillies-2,slit lengthwise
Curry leaves-1sprig
Fenugreek seeds-1/2tsp
Mustard seeds-1/2tsp
Gambojee or meen puli-1 pod full
Coconut/Refined oil-2tbsp
Coconut oil-1tsp
Salt as per taste
Water-1cup
First make the chilli paste by grinding together the chilli powder, fenugreek seeds and onion with 2 to 3 tbsp of water. Now place the pan or manchatti.Heat 2 tbsp of oil and splutter the mustard seeds. To this add the chilli paste, ginger, garlic, green chillies and curry leaves.Roast it for a minute, then add the water, pulli, salt and turmeric and allow it to boil. Now add the fish pieces and let it cook on a high flame until it starts boiling and then cook for 10 to 15 mins on medium flame.Do not cover the vessel. When the gravy is thick enough, switch off the flame and add 1 tsp of coconut oil and swirl the chatti so that the oil spreads.
Serve with white rice.
