Nellikya Uppilitta (Gooseberries in Brine)

 Ingredients;
Gooseberries - 20,washed and dried
Birds eye chillies-12cup,washed and dried
Water-250mls
Distilled Vinegar-50mls
Salt-2tbsp

Boil the water.Add the gooseberries and let it boil for 2 to 3 mins.Switch off the flame.Add salt and stir followed by chillies and vinegar.When cooled store in a glass jar in a cool place. Can have after 4 to 5 days.

You may choose to add some turmeric and chilli powder.
Can be used to make pickles or chutneys(Nellikya Chamanthi).
