Pickled Gooseberries/ Nellikya Achaar with Lemon Grass



Ingredients;
Gooseberries-15 to 20
Salt-2tbsp
Gingelly/Mustard oil-1/2cup
Fenugreek seeds-1tsp
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Ginger-1inch
Garlic,1/2 pod
Lemon grass-2 stalks
Chilli powder-2tsp
Turmeric powder-1tsp
Asafoetida/Hing-1/2tsp







Makes gashes on the berries,rub salt and leave it overnite.Dry grind the ginger,garlic and lemon grass.Heat the oil in a pan.Splutter mustards add the fenugreek seeds followed by the ginger garlic and lemon grass mix.Fry it until half done.Add the berries and chilli,turmeric and asafoetida powder.Mix well and leave it on low flame for 2 mins.Keep mixing well.Store in an air tight jar when the pickle cool down.tastes better after 2 days.
