Today I have a very hot recipe for you all.As the name its green chillies pickled.You may use any variety but I prefer the very small hot ones called 'Kanthari' in Malayalam and I think its called 'Bird's Eye' in English.
Ingredients;
Green chillies- 100 gms,cleaned and without stem.You may remove the seed if you prefer.If using big ones make a gash in it or chop it into 1 inch sizes.
Mustard/any oil-1/2 cup
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Salt-2tbsp
Asafoetida-1/2 tsp
Vinegar-1/4 cup
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Heat the oil.Add the mustard seeds and let it crackle.Pour it into the chillies.Add the turmeric,salt and asafoetida.When it cool down add the vinegar.Mix and store for 1 week in an air tight jar preferrably made of porcelain or glass .After a week its ready to use.
Enjoy with curd rice or dal chaawal!!!!!!!!!!
