Chilli Chicken

Another chicken recipe in a row; a request from J&J 2 of my frens.Its a very popular indochinese recipe.





Ingredients;

Boneless chicken-750 gms,cubed
Onion-2 small, cubed
Capsicum-cubed-1cup
Babycorn-4 slit lengthwise (optional)
Ginger-2tbsp minced
Garlic minced-1tsp
Ginger garlic paste-1tsp
egg-1
soya sauce-2 to 3 tbsp
chilli garlic sauce-3tbsp
tomato sauce-2tbsp
corn flour-2tbsp
crushed pepper-1+2tsp
salt as per taste
oil for deep frying
red food colour-optional
coriander leaves or spring onions for garnish

Mix the corn flour, egg, gingergarlic paste,1tsp pepper,1 tsp soya sauce and salt.Make it into a paste and coat the chicken pieces.Leave it for marination for 15 minutes.Now heat oil and deep fry the chicken pieces till cooked and golden brown.Remove it on to a kitchen towel to drain excess oil.
In a pan heat 2 tbsp of oil.Add the ginger and garlic stir it for a minute then add the onions and cook it for a minute or 2.Do not overcook the onions.now add the capsicum and baby corn.aad the salt and remaining pepper powder.Saute it; then add the soya, chilli-garlic and tomato sauces.You may want to add the food colour at this stage.Add 100 mls of water and let it heat.When it starts boiling add the chicken pieces.Mix 2 tsp of corn flour in little water(10 to 20 mls) Add this to the gravy and stir it well.The gravy will start thickening.Switch of the flame when the gravy is of desired consistency and coating the chicken and veggies.Garnish with coriander leaves or spring onions.

Serve with fried rice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

biny..ur chilli chicken is on my stove now....but no chilli added...(for an irish friend)
